Missing Sorsogon.
I was meant to be in Sorsogon this weekend with my group, Musica Chiesa, for an out-of-town gig. However, I had to back out since I was not able to take my piano exam last Wednesday. Exams and papers filled up this week that I did not have time to practice. Opted to take the removals on the 29th instead. Sem break? What’s that?!?!
I am very much determined to graduate this April 2010… so, not taking my piano removals is not an option.
Anyway, I met up with my childhood friends this evening to watch the Bloomfields’ benefit concert. Tita Angelique and her band performed a set before they did and it was great seeing her perform. She was fantastic!!! It was my first time to watch the Bloomfields as well. High energy evening! Pops Fernandez sang in between and she wowed me too! She is one heck of a performer. I loved her 80s to 90s song renditions.
The evening definitely broke the monotony of finals season. It was great seeing Arvin, Maricris, and Maia. Good times catching up with the bunch of them. We made a pitstop at Jacob’s Shawarma at Ortigas before heading home. Yum yum!
Thank you too to Tita Matet, Ate Vanessa, Tita Mavic and Tita Angelique. I missed you guys tooooo!!!

I read Jess’ wall post to Jo on Facebook. Then I found myself calling her all the way in the UK. However, this is not unusual. She’s very much used to my annual random calls. We were on the phone for about 20 mins? Hahaha. I am not looking forward to my next phone bill! Was still all psyched about talking to her that I left her a wall post on Facebook.
Next thing that happened, I received a message from Jo asking for my phone number.
Then I remembered Grace and decided to give her a ring but could not find her phone number. Gave MSN a shot and TADA! A message from her popped out of nowhere!
Oh, Jo and I were exchanging messages a couple more times throughout the evening. Everything was simultaneously happening.
Then my phone rings. It was Jo. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!
Around the woooooooooorld. From the Philippines to the UK to Australia and back. Hahaha.
How has studying been for my exams? Oh.. not productive at all. But well worth it. I just know I’m gonna pass this semester. CONFIDENCE!

New toy!
Late this morning, I headed out to SM North to look for farewell gifts for my students. Didn’t find anything decent for 20 kids in Toy Kingdom and instead found myself walking in JB Music.
22 recorders! Yup yup! I got recorders for my kids. They were P100 but I got them on sale. So yay! I spent under P2k for those.
However, those weren’t the only things I bought. I got myself an acoustic steel guitar. Waaaaaaah!!! It was on sale too! Finally!!! I have an instrument within reach. I feel more like a musician now! I missed playing the guitar but of course, the guitar only comes second to the piano. The piano is still my first love. I want a piano within reach too!!!
The past few days has been spent in front of the piano rehearsing for my piano exams. I have spent at least two hours learning and polishing my pieces. I am still far far away from memorizing my pieces but my goal is end the semester by October 21. I refuse to prolong my agony until October 29. I would like a vacation too thankyouverymuch.
Gah! I splurged for this guitar. Unnecessary expense but I reckon it’s an investment!
Given a chance to splurge some more (ha! A great deal more), I think I would have bought the entire store. Waaaah!!! This is why I do not like walking in music stores. I end up buying anything!
I will have a room filled with instruments one day. ONE DAY! =P
Oh, I kept one of the recorders. I will teach myself to play the friggin’ instrument! Hahaha.
Ooooh! I saw the Korg X50. I want that too!
I sooooooooo know I will be part of a band some day. Yehba!

Nocturnal body clock set.
FINALS! Because the semester is about to end, my body clock is quite messed up, again! I did manage to attend my 830am class this morning. Dragged myself out of bed though. It would have been great to sleep in. I went straight home the moment my class ended and went back to bed. =P
Zuriel and I watched The Ugly Truth Wednesday evening. Spur-of-the-moment movie date followed by an ugly truth session in McDonald’s Katipunan until 2am in the morning!
Caught up with Migs this evening as well. Watched her opera rehearsal followed by joy riding our way through the metro sending people home. We made a quick drive-thru at Krispy Kreme Greenhills on our way back home. I missed the vaklers!!!
Dead of the night and I am still up trying to finish my last requirement for my major class. Am excited to finish my paper and print out the rest of my portfolio.
I am thinking of keeping my hair long. Just need to trim it.

I’m sitting down here…
.. in front of the computer but I have not made progress with my paper. Have not even started at all and it is due at 5pm.
I woke up late today. 1230pm. I am hungry and yet I am not bothered to eat. I do not know what to eat. I just want my paper over and done with so that I can get out of the house.
It is pouring rain though. Low pressure area over the country. I do not have an umbrella. NEED to buy a new one.
Negativity’s a bitch and this entry is filled with that. Eeeww!
Let’s turn things around.
Looking forward to the end of the semester!!! Woohoo!

Hell days ahead.
.. and I am slowly making progress. I just know I will pass this semester. I just need to get movin’.
Yesterday I had a really packed and productive day. Today has been the opposite. Sunday rest day? Maybe.
Went to National early this evening and bought a couple of necessary and a handful of unnecessary art materials.
Let’s just hope that tomorrow will be much more productive than today. Agenda: 3hrs on the piano studying pieces (not even close to polishing) and studying for my Math1 exam on Tuesday.

It’s 530am…
.. and I am already up. In fact, I have been up since three hours ago. I conked out the moment I go home and slept for 6hrs? I think.
The week has been eventful and busy. Other than attending classes and meetings, working on requirements and meeting deadlines, I turned 24 last Tuesday. I do not look it though. I should start looking my age, somehow!
I am quite done with 2 subjects – 2 major subjects at that. Now I have to work on the rest. Hell days ahead!
The first week of October is always something to look forward to. The middle weeks are ones to dread. Then there is the last stretch to rejoice and be glad with. (Okay, that sounded kinda preachy.)
RUN AND BREAK FREE! There ya go! =P
I am looking forward to that last stretch and will hold on to that happy thought.

Months later…
.. my room is still my room.
The past week has been surreal. Everything has stopped because of Typhoon Ondoy. I saw videos of people getting stranded in their cars, cars floating away, cars sinking in an excavation, people stranded on their roofs, friends losing their homes, people stranded on debris floating on the raging floods.
The first half of this week was spent helping out with relief operations. Some centers were overmanned. My boarding house was turned into a drop off point for donations and we brought them to the UP Mountaineers operations. A senior of mine had operations at her place too. We did the groceries (we got P75k worth of donations from Bo Sanchez) and we packed our relief goods ready for deployment. Thank you to all those who donated.
Typhoon Pepeng (Parma) is in the area now, a week after Typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana). Streets are empty early. The Bicutan intersection was bus-less the other evening when usually its clogged with vehicles and people.
On top of that, a strong earthquake happened in Indonesia, a tsunami in Samoa, tornadoes in Italy. Natural disasters happening left and right. Mother nature is telling us something. We need to take care of our earth. We are taking it for granted.
Let us learn from this. Let us take action. Somehow.

Letting go
I have letting go issues. I am attached to a lot of things and some of these things are weighing me down. I will start with cleaning my room and throwing out things that I do not need.
I need to get organized.
Err.. is this reflective to my life? Maybe. Hahaha.
Whatever. I just want my room clean and tidy.
